Cut my face and neck open 6 Times! - 2010-04-20
Sincere warning. I purchased these clippers after my babyliss failed and wanted something more sturdy than the lightweight plastic babyliss so purchased these ceramic clippers as I liked the solid feel of the build. I have using various trmmers for about 6 years and never have I had the experience of being cut whilst using. I stopped after the first nick and actually re-read the instruction sthinking I was somehow doing it wrong!!
I always use setting zero (no comb) for both beard and head. I figured mayber these just weren't designed to be used without a comb so I attached the grade 1. Same thing! i spent an age tentatively cutting head and beard taking care to go slowly in order to minimise the chances of cutting myself. Eventually, I got the job done but had 6 seperate cuts to my face and neck as well having endured countles jolts of pain where hairs would simply get caught in the blade without being cut.
I was my head in shave damp to ensure the hair is easier to cut. I have tried lightly oilin gthe blades but the fact is, these are poorly designed and frankly dangerous. Avoid.

Being a man who has been blessed with little hair I always cut my own. I seem to buy a set of hair clippers every year or so, they break or go missing on a trip. This Remington is one of the better clippers I have owned, cheap models are a waste of money in the long run. I like the ceramic blades that you do not have to oil and stay sharp. The motor is powerful and cuts my hair with ease. Recharging is a little slow and I would like to have had a recharging dock/cradle (hence four not five stars). Overall I well made product that does a simple job well.
not worth it - 2009-02-13
when i first bought it i was like wow new technology ceramic clippers.
the actually comb pieces break off, which means its pretty pointless buying 1 unless you want to use it to cut zero. i used the 3mm comb about 15times now, and there is 5 guides broken off. hence i would definitely not recommending any1 wasting their time with this product.
It ain't funny!! - 2009-01-21
Was reasonably happy with this product until Sunday evening ... Bought it just over a year ago, and was trimming my hair from maybe a half inch to bald (back to the wood!) I had done half of my head when suddenly all it would do was pull my hair out by the roots. Cutting action was history. Into the bath and and four disposable razors later finally completed the job. Wouldn't buy another!

Bought these clippers - on first use they gave up half way through and I had to find a hairdresser quick style :o( Sent them back (Amazon returns service excellent as usual) and received a new set. More cautious this time so I tried them on my beard once or twice. Seemed ok so I plucked up the courage to try on my hair again - SAME PROBLEM !!! Got half way through and they stopped clipping properly, pulling out the occasional hair and not cutting at all. Clearly a design flaw here .... avoid like the plague.
